While attending a transgender music event in Los Angeles Saturday night, Caitlyn Jenner went to hug another transgender woman who approached her and who seemed to be an adoring fan.
But instead of a hug, the reality TV star got an expletive-laced tongue-lashing from the woman who told her that she found it “ridiculous” that she may still support President Donald Trump, even after he authorized banning transgender people from serving in the U.S. military.
“You’re an (expletive) fraud and a fake,” said the woman, Ashlee Marie Preston, a trans activist and journalist. She shared her exchange with Jenner at the Trans Chorus event on her Facebook page, the Daily Mail reported.
Jenner had been standing in the audience when Preston approached her.
“You continue to support somebody that does everything with the military to erase our community,” Preston argued. “It’s really (expletive) up that you continue to support him,” she added.
Jenner remained stoic and still for most of the lecturing, as people around both women tried to defuse the situation. Simpson also had some choice words for one of those people, a woman who apparently represented the Trans Chorus. Simpson said it was wrong for the Trans Chorus or any LGBTQ organization to take money from Jenner when she had betrayed the community.
But then Jenner told Simpson, “You don’t know me,” which set Simpson off some more, saying “Oh my god. Yes we do.”
As it happens, Jenner may no longer be the fervent Trump supporter she once was.
