Donald Trump didn’t have to run for president to let the world know he was eager for the spotlight.
As a Manhattan real estate mogul, Trump made cameos in a “shocking number” of TV shows and movies, including in “Home Alone 2: Lost in New York,” “The Jeffersons,” “Fresh Prince,” “The Drew Carey Show,” “Sabrina, the Teenage Witch,” and “Zoolander,” Uproxx said.
But Chris O’Donnell’s interview with Conan O’Brien Wednesday night raises the question of how many other movies and TV shows Trump tried to appear in.
O’Donnell told O’Brien that Trump was eager to be seen in “The Scent of a Woman,” the 1992 movie he made with Al Pacino, who won an Academy Award for his role.
Trump offered to allow some scenes be filmed at The Plaza, his hotel in New York City. But he demanded a walk-on part for himself, O’Donnell said.
The scene involved Trump and his then-wife Marla Maples arriving at the hotel.
“It was we pull up in a limo and [Al] Pacino and I left and another car pulled up and it was Donald Trump and Marla Maples walked out and went in,” he said.
O’Brien was floored: “I won’t shy away from this, he said, ‘Yeah, they can shoot at the Plaza if they put me in the freakin’ movie.’”
In the end, O’Donnell said Trump’s cameo “got cut out of the movie,” which gave Conan and his audience a good laugh.
