President Donald Trump put forth a bold, $1 trillion stimulus plan during his speech to a group of assembled construction workers at the 2017 North America’s Building Trades Unions National Legislative Conference on Tuesday.
During the address, Trump broke out a colorful chart to illustrate the “horrible” regulations that can make gaining approval for construction projects nearly impossible.
“Getting a building approved in New York is a horrible thing,” the president remarked.
The giant poster, which was taller than both Trump and the aide holding it, displayed the permitting process to build “a simple highway,” which the president described as a nightmare.
“It can take anywhere from 10 years to 20 years, and they vote, and you lose,” POTUS said. “They don’t want it.”
Trump says he plant to cut a lot of red tape and spend a lot of money — “a trillion dollars, maybe more” — to end these counterproductive regulations, according to Business Insider.
“Together, we are going to rebuild our nation,” he told the assembly.
